Happy as Larry

People in northern Queensland aren't very happy as Larry tonight cos Tropical Cyclone Larry made landfall there today bearing category 5 winds and trailing a tidal surge in its wake.

More bite than Hurricane Katrina which destroyed half of New Orleans a few months ago killing 1422, more punch than Cyclone Tracy did 30 years ago, some parts of Queensland were not the best place to be today, especially those near the water. But while Tracey killed 71 people, Larry doesn't appear to have killed anyone. Just the local economy, many of the homes, schools and trees.

No school in Innisfail tomorrow

That's some lucky shit, that is.

Funnily enough, on the same webpage as the devastation was unfolding was an advertisement for a new apartment complex built on the water

I bet they sold lots of them today.
