The Kiki bird - a smallish bird with bright orange beak and huge blue balls; when it lands in the snow it calls out: ki-ki-ki-rist it's cold!

And it is cold, anyone would think winter was here. The Desert road is about to close and it's not very nice out there on the central plateau. It's also snowing in Otago.

Which could be why I am here instead. Remember, Godzone ends at Taupo.
