We went into school tonight to look at the Year 8 Science Fair projects that were judged the best in each class. There were lots of them. But not many had what Adam's one had on it - a yellow sticker which signifies his entry is in the finals.

His project consisted of using his stationary steam engine to test the heating efficiency of various fuels - how long would each take to boil 20mls of water?





He did a lot of hard work and we are very proud of him. Just occasionally, it does pay to like things other than Playstation and Yu-gi-oh cards.

PS - burning turpentine under a boiler is really not an indoor pursuit. Trust me.
