Tuesday is a two-day. It's the second day of the (common) working week (even though it's considered the third day of the real week) and is sort of a nothing day, really.

Once upon a time, Tuesday was very important.

The name comes from the deity Mars, who sat in judgement over combat, trouble and litigation. Tuesday was court day, the day for combat or starting litigation; assizes day.

The word stems from the Swedish Tisdag; Danish Tirsdag; Danish Dingsdag; German Dingstag; Saxon Tiwæsdæg or Tuesdæg.

Mars was the Roman God of War, but before that he was god of fertility, spring, all things new and replenishing and protector of cattle and agriculture. He was originally the Boss God and hung out with Jove (who later became top god) and Quirinus (who didn't). He had no daddy cos his mother Juno conceived him when she got it on with a flower with fertile properties, all arranged for her by the goddess Flora.

Iron, represented by Mars' shield and spear, is associated with Tuesday.

Tuesday for me is the day for getting over all the stuff I was attempting to avoid on Monday while I was getting over the weekend's exertions but got dragged into anyway.
