The kids went off to Waihi with their father yesterday for the latest and last Martha Mine Open Day. It's the last because they are planning to halt mining there about the middle of this year.

They walked way down into the mine pit where Martha Hill used to stand (as blogged some 10 months ago) and saw big machinery and mine equipment and trundled around going "oooh" and "ahhhhh" (well, Ads would have been anyway) until they had walked their lil feet off and then came home.

Ads is shitty because his father brought one of the step-monsters along on their day out with Dad, that Mum paid all the costs for.

I don't blame him.
