Speaking Flobbalobbalob

Do you remember these guys?

It's Bill and Ben - The Flowerpot men. They liked gardening, I think (well they certainly had green thumbs). I don't remember them on TV when I was a kid because we didn't have a TV, or live in Britain and I wasn't actually born anywhere near 1952 when they first came out. But they did eventually pass by our screens and into memory.

They were made out of flowerpots and hid in the shed with their friend Little Weed. Now they have gone the way of Noddy, Bigears and Golliwogs in the fallout of the need to sanitise our lives with political correctness. The other side of this PC Revolution that takes innocent things and dramatises them into major epics is the gay community who still seem to be more precious about how they think people should perceive them in society than they are about what they do with their assholes. They take umbrage at the smallest, most trivial things and blow them out of all perspective and proportion and shit all over the people who support them because someone's husband dared to poke a little good-humoured borax their way. And they seem to think that everyone has to love, honour, approve and respect their homosexual status as much as they do. They should stop believing their own PR and should already know that encouraging and approving of dressing 8 year old boys in their mother's old crocheted tops with fairy wings pinned on the back is not going to be particularly well received by people who value the image our children have to project to be accepted in society where homosexuality is not the norm and is not a mainstream living arrangement - especially if you live in the Homophobic capital where your continued existence as a homosexual could almost be described as tenuous. It's not about what is right and wrong, it's about the longterm crap it can cause. Some things are just not cute and setting any child up for peer ridicule is right at the top of the verboten list. My son wouldn't have worn that crap at 8 even if I was stupid and insensitive enough to attempt it. Some mothers need a bullet.

The thing about the internet is that the written word will seldom be perceived as the same words would hve been if delivered verbally. That's undeniable when the body language, humour or intent are not available to define the content and if you read something you don't expect and don't like coming from the home of people who actually like you, maybe it's the reader who has the problem, not the author. The other thing about the internet is that most people take great pains not to identify an individual unless it is intended; one uses a diminuitive instead but some people might be so precious that they make the choice to take umbrage where no offense existed, even at a gentle and perfectly benign nickname that describes at least one of them so well.

Especially if they go looking for it.

And remember, everyone is entitled to express their own opinion, even James. At least he didn't go off half cocked and take the coward's way out, like some did.

Funny that.

Barry and Ben - the poor, sad "little men". You owe Jude a HUGE apology. You didn't even have the balls to discuss it with her.

Grow up, the pair of you and stop listening to the crazy old bitch carefully grinding her axe just up the road from you who likes to threaten physical violence upon a 60 year old woman when she's injured, for no reason other than whatever lunacy her warped and twisted brain dreams up on any particular day - her Karma is going to be a biggie and she's earning every bit of it. Yours ain't looking too flash now, either.

CORRECTION

The poor little crochet-top boy is apparently 9. My error. Could have been worse, I could now be threatening to blackmail people to have this blog post removed.

Too close to the truth, perhaps? Bugger.

By the way, Jude has no influence over this blog and censorship and blackmail aren't taken very well here in NZ (or by me) - you can fuck off back to America where they like people like you if you want to play that particular dirty brand of pool.
