There was a very interesting programme on TV when we got home from shopping tonight. It was about the extraordinarily high rate of campylobacter cases here in NZ. They said that NZers eat something like 37 kilos of chicken a year per person. We walked in half way through when the interviewer was trying to pin the blame on the chicken growers. They had official footage of the chook growing farms, and they had some covert chook growing farm video footage taken by the Save The Chicken people. They showed pictures of dripping, inadequate product wrapping in supermarkets and they had video of chooks dying on the killing chain in the chook factory.

It was very interesting viewing whilst eating our Krispy Chicken from the takeaway up the road.

After dinner/cleaning up/washing/yada yada I cruised to this, pointlesswasteoftime.com, where they have the behind the scenes look at Star Wars. It's a refreshing view of the science fiction genre. Or not.




PS the Crispy Chicken place up the road hires staff who don't have a clue about rounding up currency - they think that something advertised as $6.35 is really $6.40 when they till it up. On each item. Despite using EFTPOS as a method of payment.
