screwing the crew

A very accurate image of Colin, the man who screws around on his wife, with his staff.
Geez, the things the staff's gotta do to gain enough leverage to make people pay up what they fucking owe in this world. I think I would rather have slept with the four-legged rat, not the two legged one. At least the furry one might have been interesting.
Note, the Rat has no cojones, either.

the ren and stimpy post
Yeah, I thought about that many, too.
Seriously, though, it seems to be this great human condition to seek out joy and happiness and oust misery. From childhood we are taught that happy is good, unhappy is bad and Santa won’t bring pressies to bad kids, so get your shit together and be happy, you ungrateful little shit. People, things “make” us happy, we are happy when we see our friends, play with our kids, eat a block of chocolate. (OK, we might not be too happy AFTER we eat the block of chocolate, but that’s a different issue). Naturally, we chose to do things that make us happy over things that make us unhappy - we’d usually rather go to a party than a funeral (unless we hate the recently-deceased’s guts, in which case its sort of like combining the two, innit…); we don’t usually eat things that taste vile and make you ill in place of things that are yummy and make you feel good. Good is another way of saying happy - it’s good to be happy. And out in the Real World, every one says “good morning” to each other, not “miserable day". You never hear the checkout operator say “go and fall over in the carpark and break your leg you silly old bat"; oh no, it’s always “have a nice day". Nice is good, so it’s also happy, if you get my drift. We enjoy being happy - to be happy is a joy.
And I think this is a good thing.
So, anyway, when one of those days comes along, you know the bad-hair-pimply-skin-Im-fat-fuck-off-and-leave-me-alone days, you just know that bed is a good place to be, with nice comfy pillows, cuddly blankets, a good book or 3 and a huge bar of chocolate to make the whole world go away. The trouble is, sometimes every day is like that… what do you do then?
After all, there is only so much chocolate you can bring home in a week.
I’ve enjoyed wasting your time :-)
Have you enjoyed being wasted?

pangs
Actually, she had them between 2.45am and 6.50am this morning.
Aren’t they gorgeous?
Five Mini-Nushies all in a line - cream, apricot, brown, black and black. She never did like to conform…

dross and scum
Mind you, Im not missing the bitching and whining, both upstairs TVs and the radio blaring constantly, the endlessly ringing phone or the bloody lift grinding up and down and neither are the kids, if their improved behaviour is anything to go by.
Stress comes in many forms - old people are a large contributing factor.
Today brought a healthy dose of unnecessary stress when Adam discovered early this morning that some thieving lowlife scumbag had stolen his Go-kart. His prized possession, the only thing his pathetic excuse for a sperm donor has done for him in the past 8 years and now it’s gone. It turns out (after a bit of investigation) that some of our non-pink ethic brothers mongrel kids took it from our property, rolled it down the track to the rugby park and left it, and where it went after that no one seems to know.
And Norman the Dickhead Policemen wasn’t much fucking use either. What a complete waste of a uniform he was. Its enough to give our boys in blue a bad name. Oh wait on, they gave themselves one last week when that poor woman rang them from Piha for help and they sent a taxi - or maybe they didnt, no one really knows cos she is missing presumed murdered and might never be found, let alone be able to tell her story.
They were planning a big search for her this weekend. Bit fucking late, hmmm? Useless bastards.
Stressful times for people in lots of ways. Our homes arent safe, our Police won’t do their job and keep us safe. Our lives, once peaceful and mundane are now anything but peaceful and its a hard thing to deal with children who fear noises in the night, worried that someone is coming to steal their stuff or break into the house. Lets face it, our society is screwed.
The more we become a dog-eat-dog world, the less time we have for the little things that count. Like respect, consideration, trustworthiness and integrity, reliability, thoughtfulness and compassion. You know, the little things that really matter. Now, its all about self gratification, pleasures and screw anyone who gets in the way and I caught the receiving end of that yesterday, in a nasty, backhanded and round about way.
When the people you do the most for can least remember your simplest of requests, you know that they aren’t worth the time, the loyalty or the love you give them.
But then, people are just assholes, aren’t they?

She Blooms
Delivery suite is all set to go. Looks like Nushie is as well :-)
I’m gonna be a Nana again soon!
Ode to a wrinkled dog
We have this funny looking dog
Her face is full of wrinkles
Two cats own her, heart and soul
And paws and tail and crinkles
Her bed of preference is the couch
She commands the car’s back seat
Pushes open every door she can
With her dainty doggy feet
She forgoes to fetch the paper in
Eschews chasing silly sticks
And can’t obey to save her life
I think her head is full of bricks.

something fishy going on here
It’s a 9 foot long ton of Sunfish and it washed up on a beach at Farewell Spit.
I don’t think the Sunfish fared very well there at all, do you?

call me jock
A bit like an athletes jock-strap
Cushioning some of the bouncing around
And absorbing a lot of the crap
Invisible, functional and useful
Whether awake or taking a nap
Flexible, reliable, honest and here
Odd bits of binding and material scraps

mundanities
Actually, it was an astounding thing. It’s been 7 years, 11 months and 5 days since I last had to deal with greasy, oily overalls. That’s how long since I took my Freedom back. But tonight, whilst putting the washing in the machine, I got a whiff of the smell of oily overalls and was right back in the laundry of the old house, with nappy buckets and bibs and smelly socks.
And lots of oily, greasy overalls.
It seems Adam is going to be a man when he grows up.
Goddess help me.
:-)
Instead of moaning about all the things you want and don’t have, be glad for all the things you don’t have and don’t want.

Chalice

The Watchers
Welcome to Chapter 4
So, what’s coming up in this blog?
Buggered if I know? I guess if you’re crazy enough to keep reading you’ll find out.
Suffice to say, it’s been rather hard to stay positive with the deterioration I’ve been experiencing with my MS. It’s not fun, it’s not pretty, it hurts, it’s cold, dark and it’s VERY lonely, here on the inside. There are no fun, bright, interesting or enjoyable activities awaiting those of us who no longer participate in the real world every day. Most of the nurturing we receive is limited in time, depth and actual desire, born of some weird obligation.
The world has changed vastly in it’s perceptions of need and want, and the simple things are the things that are discarded first as silly, unnecessary, a waste of time or not entertaining enough. Maybe you have to become one of the Square Pegs that no longer fit into a nice, tidy, conventional, round hole to even begin to see, feel and truly understand.

opening bars
Mix with a little water, shaping with a little trust
Bake in an oven of acceptance and cool on a rack of care
Ice thickly with compassion, this cake for all to share
Place it on a doilied tray, cut it with a silver knife
And offer it to all who want to taste a slice of Life
